An Active Summer!

With not having PTC this summer, it meant that I actually had 2 months off without having to worry about anything. I took this summer to focus on my mental health and myself. After the rollercoaster year that I just experienced as my first year as an AP, I wanted to do nothing, see no one and just be a couch potato for the first week of my summer vacation. The school ended and we traveled to Lebanon. When I arrived, I was physically and mentally exhausted. I saw no one and spoke to no one for the first 7 days. I was in my pjs for 3 days straight and all I did was sleep, eat and play with my children. It felt so good since I didn’t have any days like that during the school year.

I started getting my energy back and thought to myself, gym? No gym? Ondrej would kill me if I chose NO gym!  As I was leaving the club where I take my kids swimming, I saw posters with classes of TRX, aqua aerobics and PT sessions. I took pictures and sent it to my younger sister who exercises daily. I messaged her and asked her if she was interested.  A few minutes later she messaged back saying, “YES, AQUA AEROBICS AND TRX classes, BOOK IT!” So I automatically called and booked our spots.

I took the month off in June and started to get back on track in July when my sister came to Lebanon for two weeks.

Three days later we went to the TRX class. Oh my goodness and we thought we were fit! The instructor killed us and she said she was being gentle with us! We enjoyed it but I knew after my sister would head back to Kuwait I wouldn’t be motivated to go on my own. The instructor who gave the TRX class was the personal trainer for that gym. I asked about her packages, thought about it and booked myself 10 sessions with her that took me until the end of summer.

Alongside with my personal training sessions, I was doing aqua aerobics which i loved. I completed my 10 sessions and left to head back to Kuwait. I felt good and back to normal and felt like a human again. I am so thankful to have my sister as she was the one to motivate me to book those classes. Had she said otherwise, I highly doubt I’d have done anything by myself and would have ended up being a couch potato for two months. Ondrej would have literally come to Lebanon to kill me as he always kept in touch and would message me to check in. He was surprised and impressed at what I was doing. To impress him is very rare believe me!

I told him the minute he sees me he has to measure me so that I can compare my previous measurements. As much as I hate him doing it, I was curious to see what the numbers were and if anything had changed or not.

What do YOU think the results were? Did I lose weight? Did I stay the same? Did I go down in centimetres?
